Founded in 1954, we are devoted to creating a vital wine society for the passionate consumer, the oenophile, as well as industry professionals who know us and continue to send us their people.
We are located in New York City where we host our flagship 21 Week Sommelier Certificate Course, as well as other events.
Recognizing that there are various levels of skill and knowledge, we are committed to making the enjoyment and appreciation of wine an option for everyone.

The Sommelier Society of America’s 21 week Sommelier Certificate Course has been growing ever since, offering more wine producing countries every year (18 to date), a strong community environment for networking and at least eight wine tastings per class.
