Sommelier Society of America Instructor Emeritus Philip Morace

Philip Morace is a graduate of the University of Rochester, with a BA degree in Philosophy. He worked at a commodity firm from 1982 to 1990 and is a member of the New York Mercantile Exchange. In 1992, Morace graduated with honors from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Morace was then hired by the famed '21' Club in New York City as the Assistant Beverage Director for their historic wine cellar, and promoted to the Banquet Sommelier.

After working at '21' for five years he left to open Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca and become Beverage Director. He worked closely along side Mario Batali and Joseph Bastianich.

Presently, he is the Director of Public Relations and Marketing at his family's winery, Podere San Luigi in Tuscany.
